Bob Dance Texas Blues Festival 2019

THE BOB DANCE TEXAS BLUES FESTIVAL
RETURNS DECEMBER 15,
HEADLINED BY JIM SUHLER

The festival produced by Regogo Records honoring Formula 1 and Lotus racing icon Bob Dance will celebrate the past, present, and future of Texas Blues with sponsorships from La Comida, Celestial Beerworks, Peticolas Brewing, Monkey Shoulder Scotch Whiskey, Dallas Police Honor Guard, the Jim Clark Trust, and DFW Rescue Me.

Dallas, TX – On December 15, Uptown Dallas recording studio Regogo Records hosts the Bob Dance Texas Blues Festival, headlined by celebrated blues guitarist Jim Suhler and his band Monkey Beat. Also slated to perform are DC and the Capitols, as well as local rock and roll outfit Roller Trio, with special guests’ appearances by harmonica player Morgan Bodie and venerable saxman Johnny Reno.

This year’s event will be the Bob Dance Texas Blues Festival’s third year. The festival launched in 2017 after legendary Lotus mechanic and blues enthusiast Bob Dance flew into Dallas to visit with Regogo Racing and Regogo Records honchos Paul Rego, Chris Pohl, and George Mahn III in 2015, requesting to see some real Texas blues music performed live. A year later, Rego, Pohl, and Mahn took Dance to see a blues jam hosted by Jackie Don Loe. The group of friends put together their own concert at Regogo Records HQ, located in Uptown Dallas.

Regogo Records is a boutique, state-of-the-art recording studio that regularly hosts artists showcases and live events. “We love the blues at Regogo, but we record all types of music here at the studio.” said Pohl, who coordinates the non-studio side of the business. “George [Mahn] has a great ear for melody and tone and he’s a stellar musician, which makes him a great choice for a producer,” Pohl said. “And he’s a huge fan of Texas Blues, one of the Lone Star state’s greatest contributions to the world.”

Celebrating Texas Blues is the focus of the event, but the festival is also raising funds for the Dallas Police Department Honor Guard, DFW Rescue Me, and the Jim Clark Trust, three worthy charitable causes. The DPD Honor Guard’s primary function is to perform the funeral services for fallen Dallas police officers and supporting them is a great way to give back to local law enforcement as gratitude for their service. As for DFW Rescue Me, the organization is all- volunteer foster dog service that endeavors to reduce the number of homeless dogs euthanized in the city of Dallas by finding them forever homes. And the Jim Clark Trust is dedicated to promoting and preserving the legacy and inspiration of its namesake, F1 Champion and Indianapolis 500 Winner Jim Clark, one of the most revered names in the sport of auto racing.

La Comida, a popular Tex Mex kitchen located in Addison, will cater the event, and Dallas-based brewery Peticolas is a sponsor, so expect great food and great beers to go with the rockin’ sounds. There will also be some surprise guests and VIPs from the world of F1 racing, so fans of hot blues and fast cars will be in for treat. Tickets are limited and by invitation only.
